Welcome to the website of the BUNKERGUY. Why Bunkerguy? Because I cast net and capture FRESH bunker and that is what many people call me.
I run two boats and net wherever the meat is.That could be in the ocean from Sandy Hook to Brigantine! Or plenty of times I am in the backwaters - Shrewsbury River, Navesink River, Sandy Hook Bay to Raritan River and everything in between!
If you need FRESH bunker for a day of fishing, tournament, chunking, chumming offshore for sharks - I can help.
NOTHING puts out a nice slick-scent-oil then the fresh "slimy ones".
I run with hundreds of pounds of ice on my boats because that is the ticket to keeping them fresh and SOLID. Not red eyes and mush!
If you are going to need bait you need to call me a day or two ahead of time. As with any fishing, wind and weather rules the day. Of course the bunker need to be in the arena as well!!
2024 was the WORST year in years! The big boats in the Omega fleet having been beating these fish to the tune of MILLIONS of pounds a day for MANY years!!!
Please do NOT think it us "cast netters" that are depleting the bunker population! ALL of us baitguys combined in a year, do NOT capture what Omega's boats do IN AN HOUR!!!!!!!!
